2006 CARE AWARDS EXPANDS CATEGORIES |

Victoria - The Canadian Home Builders’ Association has expanded the categories in the 2006 CARE Awards (Construction Achievements and Renovations of Excellence) to include more commercial projects, new home sales, and awards for skilled trades. The expanded commercial section includes:
COMMERCIAL PLANNING & DESIGN The Vancouver Island members of CHBA and the BC Construction Association, (eg. Vancouver Island Construction Association and Construction Association of Victoria) are eligible to enter these commercial categories. In addition, the 2006 CARE Awards includes a Best Realtor in New Home Sales category open to Vancouver Island members of the BC Real Estate Association, (eg. Victoria Real Estate Board, Vancouver Island Real Estate Board.) “By including members of these associations, the CARE Awards becomes more industry inclusive, while maintaining an emphasis on education and professionalism,” says Lindalee Brougham, President, CHBA-Victoria. “The CARE Awards is an outstanding event that celebrates all areas of the building industry, including contributions to housing affordability, environmental achievement and energy efficiency, “ says Darrel Orr, Chair of the 2006 CARE Awards. Excellence in Creating Housing
Affordability In addition to the traditional student carpentry awards, Best Apprentice, and Best Millwork for both residential and commercial projects will also be recognized.
