New HomeDesign Show Features HGTV Designers, BBQ Champ, Prizes |

Victoria - The Canadian Home Builders’ Association-Victoria is bringing in Canada’s most popular designers to launch Victoria’s new home show - the HomeDesign Show, October 13, 14 and 15, 2006 at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre. The new HomeDesign Show will feature Steven Sabados and Chris Hyndman, hosts of HGTV’s Design Rivals. Steven and Chris have developed a huge fan base across the country by combining outstanding home design expertise with their unique wit, humour, and flair. Also appearing is Peter Fallico, the popular host of HGTV’s Home to Stay and Home to Go. His decorative home projects have appeared in Canadian Select Homes and Style at Home magazines and on TV programs like This Small Space. A renovator and furniture design graduate, Peter is known for easy-to-do projects that are practical and look great. The Design Rivals will be delivering two presentations – Friday, Oct 13 at 7:00 pm and the other on Saturday, Oct 14 at 11:00 am. Peter Fallico will appear for a show on Saturday at 4:00 pm and on Sunday, Oct 15 at 12:00 noon. The presentations are included with the price of admission to the HomeDesign Show. Admission to the show is $10 - adults, $8 – seniors (65+), $5 - ages 7 – 14; Free – ages 6 and under. The show will include seminars by local designers, as well as the latest products and trends in lighting, tile, carpet, furniture, and renovations to suit the West Coast lifestyle. In addition, the Design Rivals will appear at “Design, Wine and Dine,” a special reception during the HomeDesign Show to raise money for Habitat for Humanity. This event is scheduled for Saturday, 12:00 noon at the new restaurant in Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre. Also, appearing at the HomeDesign Show is Rockin’ Ronnie Shewchuk, Canadian BBQ Champion, and author of “Barbeque Secrets - Recipes, Tricks and Tips from a BBQ Champion.” Ron has won more BBQ competitions than any Canadian team in the history of championship barbecue. He will deliver three shows on Saturday and three shows on Sunday offering tips on the best barbecue gear, grilling techniques, and ingredients and seasonings. HomeDesign Show visitors can enter to win prizes worth thousands of dollars including a hot tub, courtesy of Vintage Hot Tubs Pool, Patio & Billiards, and seasons tickets to the Salmon Kings. The HomeDesign Show times are: Friday, Oct. 13, 12 noon – 9 pm; Saturday Oct. 14, 10 am – 9 pm; and Sunday, Oct 15, 10 am – 5 pm.
