CONQUER CLUTTER AT 2006 HOME AND GARDEN SHOW |

Victoria – Organize your life and redesign your living space at the 2006 Home and Garden Show presented by the Canadian Home Builders’ Association-Victoria. Featured speakers are Hellen Buttigieg, Host of HGTV’s Neat, and Deborah Nelson, Interior Decorator for HGTV’s Design Rivals. The Show is February 24, 25 and 26, 2006 at the Saanich Fairground, 1258 Stelly’s X Road. “This year’s theme is conquer the clutter,” says Marg McDougall, Chair of the Home and Garden Show. “Hellen will help visitors organize their surroundings, while Deborah will provide ideas to add style and panache. We live in busy, hectic times, and all of us could use a little help to truly enjoy our living space. We’re thrilled to be bringing Hellen and Deborah to Vancouver Island!” In addition, four lucky winners will get breakfast and a consultation with Deborah Nelson at the Hotel Grand Pacific, overlooking Victoria’s harbour. (Enter the contest at any RBC Royal Bank in Greater Victoria.) RBC Royal Bank is also giving away an opportunity to have a home illustrated by artist Robert Amos. Additional Home and Garden Show prizes include five draws for iPod shuffles, a Lifestyle Closet Organizer and installation by Ruffell and Brown Interiors Ltd.; a Vermont Castings 60,000 BTU gas BBQ from Home Depot, and a trip for two to see the Canucks vs the Dallas Stars on March 11. The trip includes airfare for two to Vancouver, two tickets to the hospitality suite at GM Place, hotel accommodations at the Rosedale on Robson and transportation to and from the airport in Vancouver. Terasen Gas Cooking Shows take place all weekend, featuring award-winning chefs from the Canadian Culinary Federation. Joining the chefs at different times will be Gordie Tupper from CH TV, Karen Elgersma from Shaw's The Daily, and Astrid Braunschmidt from A Channel. Garden experts from the BC Landscape and Nursery Association will be on hand to offer garden tips and deliver seminars to help give visitors a green thumb. Visitors can also enjoy a Zen Garden, a Fountain Garden, and a Patio Garden in a beautiful display by Gardenscapes and Sandstone Originals. With nearly 200 booths at the show, visitors will be able to find a wide variety of products and services, including audio/visual systems, floors, roofs, decks, windows, and heating and ventilation. There is also the opportunity to consult with designers, builders and renovators. 2006 Home & Garden Show sponsors are Terasen Gas, RBC Royal Bank, Mirage Fine Homes, Home and Garden Castings Inc., Island Professional Displays, CH, Times Colonist and Shaw. The Home Garden Show dates and hours are: Friday, Feb. 24, 12 pm – 9 pm, Saturday Feb. 25, 10 am – 6 pm, and Sunday, Feb. 26, 10 am – 5 pm. Admission is Adults - $10; Seniors and students - $7; 12 and under – free. The Saanich Fairground is located at 1528 Stelly’s X Road, Victoria, B.C.
