Sample #2
The area was cleared of undesirable
vegetation and beneath a canopy of mature trees; a beautiful outdoor
living space was created.
Slide 1
A vegetable and rose garden with raised
planters is kept safe from deer. The tall rough cedar fence features a
custom steel fabricated entrance gate with inset “heron”, a frequent
visitor to this garden oasis. The unique potting shed is well lit with
opening windows and a French door. Rainwater from the roof is collected
and recycled to the garden.
Slide 2
The gazebo is fully lined with retractable
screens. Abundant bird life and the sound of a babbling brook are the
simple pleasures found here.
Slide 3
Both electricity and candlelight provide
the desired ambience for evening use. A custom designed hanging light
compliments the octagonal shape of the gazebo.
Slide 4
Leisurely strolls along pathways, over
running streams, amongst pine, sequoia, oak and maple trees.
Slide 5
Within this man-made pond and waterfall
live a variety of fish and waterfowl. It can be viewed from the kitchen
window.
Slide 6
Even the pets have their own outdoor
living space.

Sample #3
The four elements of earth, air, fire and
water come together as one in the architectural design of this home. The
30-foot vaulted exposed timber ceiling in the Great Room allows the room
to breath. The mortise and tenon detail of each Douglas Fir column
brings the forest inside, adding strength and dimension. The use of
glass and natural materials saturates rooms with light, depth and
distinct personality.
Functionality and personal space are
considered with a floor plan that provides distinction between private
and public space. A vaulted Great Room, cordial sitting room and
convivial kitchen promote interaction among family and friends. Solitude
and sanctuary are provisioned within the oasis of the master suite,
masculine den and private upper library.
The colour palette of mossy greens and
sandy beiges pulls from the forest floor and endless shoreline, while
the use of muted reds and golds talks to the changing seasons.
Furnishings and accessories pay homage to
the heritage of the surrounding First Nations communities, numerous
local artists and seamlessly fuse with the dark rich colours of Asian
antiques.
