2008 CARE AWARDS
OF VANCOUVER ISLAND

The Canadian Home Builders’ Associations of Vancouver Island extend an invitation to enter this prestigious home building awards competition.

The CARE Awards of Vancouver Island, (Construction Achievements and Renovations of Excellence), recognize the winning efforts of Vancouver Island’s professional builders, developers, architects and designers, landscape architects, interior designers, and sales and marketing professionals.

Entries will be judged by an impartial panel of industry experts, selected for experience in their respective fields.

For ease of Entry into the 2008 CARE Awards, CHBA – Victoria has negotiated packages with professional photographers and writers familiar with the entry guidelines to prepare entries for
our members. Call the CHBA – Victoria office at 250.383.5044 for package information.

Cost:
All categories except Project of the year:

• $125 (+gst) for each PROJECT - Your project can be entered into multiple categories, except Project of the Year, for one fee!

• $125 (+gst) to enter Project of the Year category.

Entrants must be a member of CHBA, VICA*, VREB* and VIREB* in good standing. Please make cheques payable to CHBA - Victoria.

*VICA members are eligible to enter Categories #18 - #25, the Commercial Planning & Design categories. VREB and VIREB members are eligible to enter Category #28, Best Realtor in New Home Sales if they are working with a CHBA member.

Non-member entrants must apply for membership in the Canadian Home Builders' Association by
June 2, 2008, and be approved for membership prior to the Silver Finalist Announcement in July.

• Projects and products built, developed, created and/or marketed for the period of
  May 1, 2006 - April 30, 2008. Please note: the eligibility timeline is 24 months.

• A building permit must be in place for any pre-sale marketing.

• Occupancy Permit dated May 1, 2006 - April 30, 2008.

• All submissions will be judged upon strict adherence to entry guidelines.

• Any project winning Silver or Gold in a specific category from a previous year is not eligible to enter this year's competition in that category.

• Entrant must be a member of the Canadian Home Builders' Association in good standing, with the above exceptions*.

• Builder/Developer/Building Envelope Renovator entrants must be licensed with the Homeowner Protection Office. 

• An associate entrant may order silver and/or gold certificates as well as trophies following the event, providing they are a CHBA member, with the above exceptions*.

• All entries become property of the Canadian Home Builders’ Association - Victoria. CHBA - Victoria reserves the right to use any or all of these materials for the promotion of the CARE Awards of Vancouver Island. Due to the volume of entry material, CHBA - Victoria is unable to return any of the material submitted. We recommend that you keep a copy of the submitted materials.

NO SITE VISITS WILL BE MADE.

Complete entry submissions must be delivered to the Canadian Home Builders’ Association - Victoria office no later than 12 NOON on Friday, June 27, 2008.

NOTE: The on-line entry form closes at 9:00 am on Friday, June 27, 2008.  All remaining entry requirements, including fees, must be received no later than noon, Friday, June 27, 2008. After completing the on-line entry form, send or deliver the remaining entry requirements to the CHBA – Victoria office.

THERE WILL BE NO EXTENSIONS.

The Gold CARE Awards will be presented in the fall of 2008 in the Victoria Conference Centre, Carson Hall, Salons A & B.
