2008 CARE AWARDS
OF VANCOUVER ISLAND
 

The 2008 Construction Achievements and Renovations of Excellence (CARE) Awards of Vancouver Island is celebrating sixteen years of excellence in the building industry. 

For the second year, CHBA is proud to present the “Best Apprentice Award”.  This award has been developed to recognize the talents and hard work of apprentices throughout Vancouver Island.  We want to recognize the CHBA commitment to those learning a trade.

At this year's event, to be held in the fall of 2008 at the Victoria Conference Centre, we will present a deserving Apprentice with a $500 certificate for tools and supplies from a CHBA supplier member.

Deadline:  an application letter outlining the following criteria must be received at the CHBA-Victoria office by Friday, June 27, 2008.

Criteria:   

• Presently working as an apprentice for a CHBA builder, renovator or trade – name the employer   

• Include letter of support from a CHBA builder, renovator or trade describing how the apprentice has achieved good performance in the following areas: work ethic, attitude, reliability, and aptitude. Also indicate the projects on which the apprentice has worked.   

• Provide academic information such as: apprenticeship year, academic marks, instructor comments, etc.   

• Provide a CD or DVD with two or three digital images of the applicant.

• Winning apprentice must attend the CARE Awards in the fall of 2008. There is no entry fee for this category.
