The total area of the home must be over 2,500 sq. ft. and the cost of
construction, excluding land, must be under $1,000,000.
Note: all homes
with a cost of construction over $1,000,000 must enter categories 5 or 6
only.
Criteria
Judges will award points for:

Architectural design and overall appeal

Built Green level; R2000; or energy
efficiency, water conservation, recycling, and other environmental
considerations

Functionality of floor plan and creative use
of space

Quality of workmanship and attention to detail

Use of materials (i.e. natural; cost-effective; unique)

Use of Smart Home Technology

Unique features
-
Effective land use and compatibility with environment
-
Target market acceptance (re: length of time
on market/confirmed sale)

Accessibility
The
cost per square foot of construction, excluding land cost, must be
identified on entry form.
