This award recognizes the
builder, developer, designer, or consultant of a project that demonstrates
smart home technology solutions.
Criteria
Judges will award points for:
-
a Home Network
Distribution Centre allowing the homeowner to manage Voice, Data and Video
services throughout the home.

integration of a variety
of cabling and video solutions, such as electrical, entire home
communications, security systems, outdoor camera systems, video
conferencing, lighting control, total home control systems, etc.

user-friendly cabling
design, including accessibility to services/outlets throughout the home
allowing home owners to have access to services where needed most
-
entertainment
integration systems which may include technology such as in-ceiling audio,
on-wall television, 7.1 home theatre system, digital music servers, etc.
-
ease of use
-
ability for expansion of
future services, physical cabling and technology
-
creative/appealing
design of terminations (media box/outlets) such that they are concealed
or unobtrusive within the home
