CHBA will update the membership on a number of important issues including the new Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) in Ontario that will add $45,000 in new taxes on a $750,000 home. Is it coming to BC?

At CHBA’s 66^th National Conference on February 28, 2009 in Quebec City, Quebec the National SAM Awards were presented. Congratulations to CHBA – Victoria member, Abstract Developments Inc. and KB Design, for bringing home the SAM Award for the Single Detached Home Over 4,000 Sq. Ft.

On May 14, CHBA – Victoria was awarded the “Association of the Year” at the 17^th Annual WestShore Chamber of Commerce “AWARDS OF EXCELLENCE” at Royal Roads University.

CHBA’s long commitment to education and training, housing affordability, and giving back to the community has served both the members and the community well.   

Other CHBA member recipients were Bob Gill, Pacific Concept Developments Ltd., winning the “Building / Development Project of the Year” for his Reflections project. Runner up in the same category was Cam Hayward, Windcrest Developments, for The Lookout project.

Our Annual FUN Golf Tournament was true to its name again this year. On May 13 at Olympic View Golf Course, golfers enjoyed a rainy but fun day on the greens!
